Pulling Yourself Out of a Funk: Rediscovering Your Joy

Hey there my beautiful friends! 🌟

We all have those days (or weeks) when life feels like it’s lost its spark. Maybe you’re feeling a bit off, unmotivated, or just downright stuck. It’s okay—we’ve all been there. Today, I want to share some warm and hopeful words to help you pull yourself out of that funk and rediscover the joy and creativity that make life so wonderfully vibrant.

Embrace the Feelings

First things first: give yourself permission to feel whatever you’re feeling. It’s important to acknowledge and accept your emotions rather than push them away. Grab a cozy mug of your favorite tea (my go to is Good Earths “Sweet & Spicy”) and take a moment to sit with your thoughts. Letting yourself fully experience your emotions is the first step toward healing and moving forward.

Small Steps, Big ChangesCup of Joy

When you’re feeling stuck, even the smallest steps can make a big difference. Start with something simple that you enjoy—maybe it’s a short walk in nature, doodling in a sketchbook, or rearranging a corner of your home. These little actions can help you regain a sense of control and spark a bit of joy.

Connect with Your Passions

Remember those activities that used to light you up inside? Maybe it’s collecting, painting, designing a garden, or even just curling up with a good book. Dive back into those passions. For me, getting my hands dirty with clay and creating something beautiful out of a lump of clay is my happy place! It’s amazing how reconnecting with what you love can reignite your inner fire.

Surround Yourself with Positivity

Positive vibes are contagious! Surround yourself with uplifting people, inspiring content, and beautiful things. This could mean reaching out to a friend who always makes you laugh, listening to an inspiring music or podcasts, or filling your space with items that uplift you remind you of the beauty in everyday moments.

Practice Gratitude

It’s easy to get caught up in what’s going wrong, but shifting your focus to what’s going right can make a world of difference. Try starting a gratitude journal where you write down three things you’re thankful for each day. It can be as simple as a delicious meal, a kind word from a stranger, or the beauty of a sunset. This practice helps reframe your mindset and brings more positivity into your life.

Seek Inspiration

Sometimes, all you need is a little inspiration to get back on track. Browse through art galleries, watch creative videos, or visit your favorite blog. Inspiration is everywhere—you just need to look for it. And remember, it’s okay to seek help and support from others. We’re all on this journey together.

Take Care of Yourself (but it’s not all about you)

Self-care is crucial, especially when you’re feeling down. Eat well, stay active, and get enough rest. Treat yourself to a relaxing bath, a new hobby, or a day off to recharge. However, remember that self-care shouldn’t become self-centered. Focusing too much on yourself can contribute to a funk. Encouraging others can lift your spirits and keep your mind balanced. Your well-being is the foundation for everything else, so balance self-love with love for those around you.

Reflect, Pray and Set Intentions

Finally, take some time to reflect on what’s been bringing you down, pray about it and set your intentions for how you want to move forward. What changes can you make in your daily walk to bring more joy and fulfillment into each day? Setting small, achievable goals can help guide you on your journey out of the funk and into a brighter, more inspiring future.

Remember, dear friends, it’s okay to feel down sometimes. But know that you have the power within you to rise above it and rediscover the joy and creativity that makes life so extraordinary. Embrace your own personal journey, and never forget that each day is a new opportunity to create something wonderful! Keep the faith, trust in God’s plan, and remember that He is with you every step of the way.

Love & Blessings,
Tammy Jo
