Everyday Light: A Little Shine Goes a Long Way
Tammy Jo Schoppet
There’s something so beautiful about light. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming to make a difference—it just has to show up. Even the smallest flame in a dark room brings comfort, direction, and hope. That’s the heartbeat behind my Everyday Light collection, and it’s also how I try to live each day: letting the light inside me shine outward.
For me, that light comes from God. He is the steady glow within, the source of peace that I can return to even when life feels noisy or uncertain. I’ve found that when I rest in Him, my heart is calmer, and I’m reminded that I don’t have to create my own light—I only need to reflect His.
And then there’s faith. Sometimes faith feels big and bold, but other times it feels fragile and small. That’s where the mustard seed comes in. Jesus said that even faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. That truth encourages me daily: I don’t need to have it all together or muster up a perfect faith. I just need a little—just enough to plant—and God will grow it into something far greater than I imagined.
That’s what I hope my art and pottery carry with them—a reminder of peace, of light, and of growth. A cup, a bowl, a luminary… they’re not just objects, but little daily companions that whisper, “You have light in you. You have hope. You have faith that can grow.”
Maybe today your faith feels small, or your light feels dim. That’s okay. Small things can grow. Dim lights can still shine. And you, just as you are, can bring warmth into someone’s day.
Love & Blessings,
Tammy Jo
