Have you ever found yourself caught between where you’ve been and where you’re going?

This question has been on my mind lately, and as a potter, I can’t help but relate it to the life of clay… and today is no different!

Let’s talk about the clay I love to use in my work—it’s called changeover clay. When clay is manufactured, it’s pushed through machines to create cubes. During the transition from one type of clay to a completely different blend, there’s a brief, magical moment where the two mix together. This is known as changeover, and it creates swirling patterns—seen by most potters as imperfections, but to me, they’re completely organic and impossible to recreate.

You may notice these spirals running through my pieces, and I love that each one tells its own story. It’s also a reminder that life isn’t always neatly separated into one phase or another. Sometimes, we’re in the middle—between what was and what’s next—blending past experiences with new beginnings.

And yet, even in the transition, beauty is forming!

Just like this clay, we are shaped by every moment—flaws, changes, and all. God doesn’t discard us when we feel uncertain or unfinished. He works through every twist and turn, molding us into something purposeful and unique.

So if you ever feel stuck in the in-between, remember this: transformation is happening! The blending of past and present is creating something new—something only you can become. Embrace it and grow!
