When a Word Becomes a Seed: Choosing What Grows in Our Hearts!

Tammy Jo Schoppet

The concept of word-SEEDS and the power they hold for us is one I’ve been pondering and working with for quite a while. The importance of a single word—the impact it has and how to make the best ones part of my life—has been a constant theme in my heart.

One day while journaling, I created a quote to remind myself of their importance:

“Words are the seeds that take root in our hearts. Sow what you want to grow!”

It reminds me to be careful about what I let into my heart… and what I allow to grow there. Yes, I said “allow.” Good or bad, we have that freedom of choice. Both positive and hurtful words have the potential to grow—so it’s worth choosing wisely and making the best ones count!

When I was creating the newly released Lil’ Mustard SEEDS Collection, this quote became even more meaningful. It reflects the tiny size of a mustard seed and the magnificent plant—along with all the future plants—that a single seed can produce. In the Bible, the mustard seed is used to show how even the smallest spark of faith can grow and flourish into things that seem impossible. Faith the size of a mustard seed. Just imagine that!

So I ask myself—and I ask you too—what do we really want to grow in our hearts? The seeds we plant today will shape the growth we see tomorrow. Choose them carefully. Nurture them faithfully. Because even the smallest seed, planted with intention, has the power to grow into something extraordinary!
